Advanced Life Support CoAI - Sri Lanka

This Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider course has been developed by Resuscitation Council of the COAISL, based on the latest 2021 ERC guidelines. This course teaches evidence-based resuscitation guidelines and skills to healthcare professionals, using a standardized approach.

This course will prepare members of multi-disciplinary teams to manage peri-arrest situations and to treat the patient until transfer to a critical care unit.

It is expected that all candidates are competent in BLS (CPR) and this must be achieved prior to attending the ALS course.

This course is recognized by PGIM and approved by the Ministry of Health Sri Lanka

Course are conducted Monthly in Colombo, Kandy, Galle & Jaffna

Pre-course preparation

  • The ALS course manual & study material is available for online access on the Resuslanka learning management system (LMS) that provides candidates with course material and the pre course assessment. The candidates are provided with secure login so that they can access the LMS and complete the learning and assessment prior to attending the course.
  • Candidates are strongly advised to gain the necessary knowledge before completing the mandatory pre-course multiple-choice questionnaire (MCQ). This pre-course assessment provides a baseline measure upon which new learning can be built and MCQ should be completed without reference to the course manual.
